Page 2 has the latest news concerning the controversial Huddy/Asgill Affair: "...Capt. Lippencot, who caused the execution of Capt. Huddy, had been sent on te 4th of June from the British lines...to the American army; and it was supposed that he would be executed on the 21st..." with more on this.
Page 5 has a letter from a "gentleman of character well versed in American Politicks" from New York noting in part: "Nothing is doing on either side of the lines in a military way...there is...a full suspension of hostilities. The Congress & their adherents wish to continue toe war & assist the French until a grand pacification shall include both countries, and given Independence to this..." with more news from America. The bkpg. has a report that: "...the New England people in general are very desirous of being at peace with their Mother Country; that the behaviour of the French has made them quite tired of their company...the inhabitants seem determined to be no longer under the French yoke."
