NATIONAL INTELLIGENCER, Washington, D.C., May 17, 1849  Most of a ftpg. column is headed; "Later From California" which deals with the Gold Rush, including: "...In relation to the mines, there is unquestionably an abundant supply of gold, and it is continually discovered in new places. The gold region is now believed to extend down as low as Lower California..." and so much more. Page 3 also has a similar report: "Three Weeks Later From California", and pg. 2 has a terrific article: "Commercial Importance of California" which takes nearly half of the page.
Also on the ftpg: "Nauvoo Temple" which reports of it being reconstructed and turned into the: "Monster Boarding House" with some details (see).
Four pages, a bit irregular at the spine, good condition.
