Nearly a full page is taken up with: "American News" being a letter from Charleston, S.C., with 16 Acts of the S.C. General Assembly, one of which is: "An act to procure recruits & to prevent desertion". Than a very interesting & lengthy list of people whose estates are confiscated, with six classes being: "Class I...all British subjects who have property in S. Carolina & never have submitted to the American government."; "Class II. Such of the former inhabitants of this country as signed the congratulatory address to Sir Henry Clinton & Adm. Arbuthnot..." "Class III. Those who petitioned to be armed in defence of the British government after the conquest of South Carolina..." "Class V. Those who have borne commissions, civil or military, under the British government since the conquest of S. Carolina..." "Class VI. Obnoxious persons..." with additional text (see).
The facing page has a column with two: "Plans for a General Peace & Other Measures." being the "Rockinghamites Demand" and the "Shelburnites Demand" with details for each (see).
Eight pages, 8 1/4 by 11 1/2 inches, nice condition.
