Page 4 has a letter from New York noting: "Washington has endeavoured to recruit his army but in vain, for there is no encouragement from the Congress for young men to enter & they get neither clothing nor pay. They look upon Washington with a jealous eye, they think him too closely connected with the French & therefore as his army is not so strong as he wanted it..." and a bit further on: "....The Congress seem to grow more tyrannical so that we should all be glad to change our Masters..." with more concerning hopes for peace with England (see).
Eight pages, 9 by 12 inches, never bound nor trimmed, very nice condition.
