NEW YORK TIMES, Oct. 18, 1931 The front page has two significant reports the most graphic being the death of famed inventor Thomas Edison. A two column headline reads: "Thomas Edison Dies in Coma at 84; Family With Him as the End Comes" with subheads and photo of him.
Also at the top of the ftpg is a one column head: "CAPONE CONVICTED OF DODGING TEXAS; MAY GET 17 YEARS" "Jury Finds Him Guilty on Two Misdemeanor and Three Felony Counts" and more. (see)
