THE LONDON CHRONICLE, England, Nov. 12, 1776

* Battle of the Cedars
* Invasion of Quebec campaign
* John Hancock & Benedict Arnold

The entire front page is taken up with: "Letters on the American Troubles" being reports from a pamphlet of this title (see photos for portions). An inside pg. has: "Advices from America--From the New York Gazette" being a report from Congress of July 27 concerning the surrender of Major Butterfield at the Cedars [west of Montreal] and which takes over a full column where it is signed in type: John Hancock, President (see for full text). This battle involved Benedict Arnold, with him mentioned by name.
Another pg. has a report beginning: "We are stationed here [Halifax] for the winter. The Americans have in great numbers joined his Majesty's forces at every place where they have been successful..." with more. Also a brief note that: "It is reported that Dr. Franklin is chosen President of the Grand American Congress", and further on is a note: "...greatest part of Gen. Howe's army were preparing to land in the Jerseys & to march into the country towards Philadelphia in order to draw off the rebels from King's Bridge...". And the bkpg. has some war-related content as well.
