PHILADELPHIA INQUIRER, Aug. 17, 1864  The ftpg. features a nice Civil War map headed: "GENERAL BUTLER'S CANAL. Shortening the River Route at Dutch Gap---Seven Miles of Sailing on the James Saved---Another Yankee Enterprise." Plus nice first column heads: "Gen. Grant Commanding in Person" "Another Brilliant Achievement" "Farragut's Splendid Achievement" "Forts Gaines & Powell In Our Possession" and much more, taking over half of the column.
Eight pages, some minor foxing & spine wear, good condition.
