THE LONDON CHRONICLE, England, Sept. 12, 1776 An inside page has a letter concerning the value of trade with America, followed by: "An American Anecdote". Yet another page has a few bits concerning America, and the back page has a report which includes: "...Gen. Clinton having occasion to send a flag of truce to Gen. Lee, addressed his letter to Major General Lee, in the service of his Majesty the king of Poland. This insult drew a very tart answer from Lee, which concluded by telling Clinton that he was sorry he would not grant him an opportunity of giving him & his troops a drubbing then, but that as he understood he was going to New York he would not fail to follow him there..".
Other news of the day, eight pages, 8 1/2 by 11 1/4 in., good condition.
