August 05, 1875

THE SILVER STATE, Winnemucca, Humboldt County, Nevada, Aug. 5, 1875

* Very rare title from the Old West

In 1868, the Central Pacific Railroad reached Winnemucca, which put the town on the transcontinental line, promoting its growth. On September 19, 1900, Butch Cassidy's gang robbed the First National Bank of Winnemucca of $32,640.
The entire front page is taken up with ads while pages 2 & 3 contain various news tidbits and more ads. Portion of a news agent's stamp in the masthead.
