* 1st ever radio rescue at sea (historic)
* RMS Republic & the SS Florida collision

A pair of issues reporting on the collision between the steamers Florida & Republic in thick fog off  Nantucket.  A distress call was issued on the new Marconi radio device, the first recorded for the rescue of a ship, resulting in the saving of around 1500 lives. See the photos for the various column heads at the top of each issue.
Each is complete in 12 pages, partially loose at the spine, but in nice condition. It is fragile & should be handled carefully.
