CITIZEN SOLDIER, Norwich, Vermont, Sept. 18, 1840  Inside is a great account of: "The Storming of Stony Point", taking nearly 2 1/2 columns.  The  back page has: "Biography of Major General Charles Lee", providing a mid-19th century glimpse of how he was viewed at the time. Additional coverage includes:  "Military Rewards", "Literary Toils" by Noah Webster; "Bonaparte" "Tactics: The Squad Drill", and more.
"Devoted To the Interests of the Militia, Military Science & National Defense" as noted in the masthead, where also is found their motto: "In Times Of Peace, Prepare For War". Lasted but 52 issues, 9 1/2 by 12 1/2 in., various foxing, good condition.
