November 27, 1840

CITIZEN SOLDIER, Norwich, Vermont, Nov. 27, 1840 and Dec. 4, 1840  Nov. 22 issue has the first of a two part series: "Biography of Benjamin Franklin". The ftpg. also has the first part of:  "The Robinson House, Or Reminiscences of West Point, and Arnold the Traitor", taking over 6 columns.  An inside page has a list of the Presidential elections to date, with details. The Dec. 4 issue has the conclusion of both articles noted.
"Devoted To the Interests of the Militia, Military Science & National Defense" as noted in the masthead, where also is found their motto: "In Times Of Peace, Prepare For War". Lasted but 52 issues.
Eight pages each issue, 9 3/4 by 12 1/2 inches, various foxing, good condition.
