Inside has most of a page taken up with a discussion of the Revolutionary War in America, prefaced with: "Sir, having a leisure hour on my hands, I sit down to send you a few cursory thoughts on the hackneyed subject of  the American contest..." which begins: "That the operations of our troops in America have not been so successful as might have been expected..." with much, much more, including: "...National pride seems to me to have been the cause of many misfortunes during the course of this struggle...The scheme of independence has been opposed by many who would never allow that we had any legislative right to tax the Americans & the Americans in attempting to establish independency has been very much censured even by some who were well known in other respects to have been their professed advocates..." (see).
Eight pages, 8 1/4 by 11 inches, very nice, clean condition.
