THE LONDON CHRONICLE, England, September 2, 1780

* Revolutionary War Era
* 1778 Original News
* From The Enemy

Page 2 has a report from Boston (see photos for full text), as well as other news which includes: "Some accounts from America say that notwithstanding the capture of Charlestown [Charleston] the Carolinas are preparing to send their members to Congress as usual...That General Clinton's detachments have all failed, being unable to attack or dislodge Washington; & that several parties sent into North Carolina have been defeated mostly by the efforts of the militia; so that the capture of Charlestown is rather a place taken than a point gained..." with more (see).
Another page includes some war-related news including: "...account of an action having happened between Admiral Graves's squadron & Mons. Ternay off Rhode Island...Wherever the French have landed in America they have almost always taken possession of the place in the name of his Most Christian Majesty; they first practised this at Savannah...This will probably open the eyes of the Americans as to the real views of his very generous ally."
Eight pages, 8 1/4 by 11 1/4 inches, very nice, clean condition.
