January 05, 1804

THE INDEPENDENT CHRONICLE, Boston, Jan. 5, 1804

* Nice masthead engraving

This newspaper has one of the more beautiful mastheads of the early 19th century making it nice for display. As an added benefit the front page features two Acts of Congress, each signed in type by the President: Th. Jefferson (see).
Page 2 has an interesting report: "President for life!...The Feds pretend that the alteration in the Constitution was made 'to secure the re-election of Mr. Jefferson; and talk about the Democrats wanting 'a President for life.'..." with more (see).
Four pages, never bound nor trimmed, great condition.
