This is followed by: "United States' Army - Organization of the Military Peace Establishment of the United States" which is lengthy as well. It includes a document signed in type by the President: James Madison.
Of interest are 4 1/2 pages taken up with a large and detailed: "Army Register" noting all the officers retained under the act of Congress to reduce the military to just 10,000 men. The issue ends with an "Imperial Decree" signed by: Napoleon.
Sixteen pages, 6 1/4 by 9 3/4 inches, light foxing, generally good condition.
This newspaper began in 1811 and was a prime source for national political news of the first half of the 19th century. As noted in Wikipedia it: "...(was) one of the most widely-circulated magazines in the United States...Devoted primarily to politics...considered an important source for the history of the period."
