The front page has a letter from New York which includes: "The French flag is now flying on the other side of the river, about Paulus Hooke, & Washington is erecting batteries, but am apprehensive will desist soon as his men desert fast & are glad at being near the river. The British were to make a sally upon them yesterday. This news is brought by deserters.." and this is followed by a letter from South Carolina which mentions: "...that since the rebels had been defeated at Camden a great number of their troops had deserted & joined his Majesty's forces, which, with the reinforcements Lord Cornwallis had received render his army very strong & that he was preparing to march into North Carolina to attempt a complete conquest of that province..." with more (see).
Eight pages, 8 1/4 by 11 1/4 inches, very nice, clean condition.
