Inside has a letter which includes: "General Clinton's conduct in marching through the Jerseys was great & masterly & the rebels were sadly disappointed...they had such a dose in their attack at Freehold on June 28 that they gave our troops not the least molestation afterwards...The rebel Generals are got together by the ears, throwing the blame upon one another. Washington brought Lee to court-martial, where he was acquitted but with difficulty....The rebels have also sustained another shocking disappointment; their leaders have been hinting for some time that a great unexpected blow would soon be struck upon the King's troops..." with more.
Eight pages, 8 1/4 by 11 inches, very nice, clean condition.
