A brief item on page 2 notes: "Gen. Campbell who is sailed for Georgia with 2000 men, has the fullest assurances of being supported by a powerful body of loyalists both in that province & Carolina upon his arrival." Other items include: "Advice is said...that Admiral Byron's fleet had fallen in with the French squadron off Boston, that a general engagement ensured in which the French were totally defeated..." and "Sir Henry Clinton has sent home a...requisition...to reinforce his army with 12,000 men...". And a back page item notes: "Gov. Johnstone...declared that he firmly believed two-thirds of the people of North America wish to return to their ancient connection with Great Britain at this moment, & that nothing but a surrounding army...prevents that spirit from breaking out in acts of hostility against the Congress and Committees." (see).
Eight pages, 8 1/4 by 11 inches, very nice, clean condition.
