THE SCOTS MAGAZINE, Edinburgh, Scotland, August, 1766

* Thanks for repealing the Stamp Act, in a UK magazine

Although formatted much like the more common "Gentleman's Magazine" this is a much more scarce title.
Inside contains: "The Speech of Francis Bernard, Governor & Admiral of Massachusetts Bay...to the Great & General Court of the said Province" which takes 2 pages.  Includes a response to it. Also: "Extracts from Addresses to the King on the Repeal of the American Stamp Act" which takes 3 pages and has some great letters from Mass. and New Jersey offering much thanks for its repeal.
News headed: "British North America" includes: "On Monday sailed passengers for London seven Indians of the Mohawk tribe...with complaint, it is said, that part of their lands were taken possession of by persons belonging to New York...". Also mention: "...that Sir William Johnson has caused a strong fort to be built...at Niagara." Also news from Detroit concerning Indian affairs, plus accounts from Fort Pitt, and news on tribes along the Mississippi, etc.
Complete in 56 pages, 5 by 8 inches, disbound with title & "Contents" on the front page, great condition.
