The front page has a four column headline:  "DOOLITTLE, LEADER OF RAID ON JAPAN, SAYS NAVY YARD, PLANE PLANT WERE HIT" with subheads and photo of FDR giving Doolittle the Congressional Medal of Honor. (see) Text continues inside with photos of some the men that were involved in the raid. This was when it was first reported that Jimmy Doolittle was the leader of the famous raid on Japan about a month earlier. Always nice to have notable events in history reported in this World famous publication.
Other news, sports and various advertisements of the day. Complete in 40 pages, this is the rare rag edition that was produced on very high quality newsprint, with a high percentage of cotton & linen content, allowing the issues to remain very white & sturdy into the present. Given the subscription cost, libraries & institutions rather than individuals were the primary subscribers of these high-quality editions. Very nice condition.
