March 15, 1856

LESLIE'S ILLUSTRATED, New York, March 15, 1856  Taking most of the front page is a nice patriotically embellished portrait of the: "American Candidates For President And Vice-President", being "Millard Fillmore Of New York" for President, and "Andrew Jackson Donelson, Of Tennessee" for Vice-President. Page 2 includes a brief textual sketch of  "Millard Fillmore, American Candidate For President", and a more detailed one of  Andrew Donelson.
Great to have the portraits of the famous  "Know Nothing" candidates on the ftpg. This a volume I issue (number 14).
Other prints within on; "French Expedition to Senegal, Africa" "The Great Beethoven Festival, Boston" "Skandogh, The Old Oneida Chief" 'Scenes in Ajaccio, Island of Corsica" "New York Harbor Defenses--Stevens's Monster Steam Batter, now Building at Hoboken, N.J."
Sixteen pages, very nice, clean condition.
