Nice headline report on the Lusitania disaster...
Item # 642899
May 7, 1915
THE VINCENNES SUN, Indiana, May 7, 1915 This is one of the nicer first reports of the Lusitania disaster we have been able to offer in a few years. A nice two-line, banner headline announces the tragedy: "GERMAN SUBMARINE SINKS CUNARD LINER LUSITANIA OFF GREAT BRITAIN" with subheads: "1500 Passengers Are Reported All Saved" "Biggest Seagoing Passenger Liner Was Torpedoed or Was Blown Up by n Infernal Machine Was the Statement Issued Today by the Company" "Vanderbilt, Hubbard and Other Notables Were on the Liner...".
Complete in 8 pages, archivally rejoined at the inside spine, a few discrete archival mends at interior margins, chipping at edges, more to to the bottom margin with various small margin tears. Very nice, clean condition but it is fragile & must be handled carefully.
