The back page has a nice report concerning the death of Simon Bolivar. Bolivar was one of most important historical and political figure in Latin American history. He is considered in Latin America as a hero, visionary, and a revolutionary. During his short life he lead Bolivia, Colombia, Ecuador, Panama, Peru and Venezuela to independence from Spanish colonial rule.
The back page item is headed: "Death of Bolivar" which gives a nice eulogy on his live. The death report is provided by Juan De Francisco De Marin and begins: "Penetrated with the greatest grief, I am overwhelmed with sorrow. The father of our country is no more!..." with more (see). And this is followed by the "...last decree issued by Bolivar...", headed: "The Liberator to the Citizens of Colombia" signed by him in type: Simon Bolivar (see). This is followed by another report of his death.
Much other interesting news in this issue as well, including: "Gen. Jackson & Mr. Calhoun", plus a letter to the House of Rep. signed: Andrew Jackson; and "The Land Bill vs. the Gold Diggers" and an interesting item headed: "Pirates" among others.
Sixteen pages, 6  by 9 1/2 inches, various light foxing, minor creasing,  nice condition.

This newspaper began in 1811 and was a prime source for national political news of the first half of the 19th century. As noted in Wikipedia it: "...(was) one of the most widely-circulated magazines in the United States...Devoted primarily to politics...considered an important source for the history of the period."
