* Lizzie Borden in jail for hatchet murders in Fall River, Massachusetts
* John L. Sullivan arrives in New Orleans, unawares his title reign is about to come to an end
The bottom of the front page has a brief article with a one column heading: "The Borden Murder Mystery" (see image for text). Although brief, it is nice to have a Lizzy Borden mention on the front page.
Also included, in an unrelated article, is front page coverage of the famed boxer John L. Sullivan's arrival in New Orleans. This was only a few days prior to the Boston Strong Boy's defeat at the hand of "Gentleman Jim" Corbett, a loss which would end his 10+ year reign as the Heavyweight Champion. Nice to have this pre-fight report of the boxer who is generally recognized as the last heavyweight champion of bare-knuckle boxing under the London Prize Ring Rules.
Complete in 8 pages, large size issue that measures 29 x 21 inches, a little irregular along the spine, a few small tape mends, generally good, but should be handled with care due to it's size and era of printing (the pulpish period).
