THE ANALECTIC MAGAZINE, Philadelphia, December, 1820 This was a very famous literary-themed magazine, but this issue features a a quite rare, hand-tinted full page engraving titled: "Falls of The Pedler Virginia". More typically such hand-tinted prints were removed from the issues long ago. And this engraving is in nice condition. The engraving is at the back of the issue and accompanies an article in which the editor discusses the difficulties in getting nice prints created for the magazine, with a reference to this one. A professional print dealer offers this print separate from the magazine for $225.
Also in this issue is a full page engraving: "Oriental Palace at Brighton" (minor damage to left edge) with a related article, and yet third plate: "Departure for a Boarding School" with a related article as well.
Complete in 88 pages, full title page, disbound, measures 5 1/4 by 8 1/4, foxing throughout with minor damp stains at bottom margin, generally nice condition.
