Near the bottom of the front page has a very historic report which notes the very beginning of the "atomic age" with a two column heading: "Big Scientific Achievement Hailed in Splitting of Atom" with subhead. (see) See the hyperlink which mentions Cockcroft and Walton as being the first to split the atom.
Other news, sports and advertisements of the day. Complete in 16 pages, light toning some wear at the margins, mainly along the right margin, generally good.
