* About to make history... 1st stage of flightLess than 13 months after Charles Lindbergh's heralded accomplishment, Amelia Earhart became the first woman to achieve the feat. The front page has a four column headline: "SOUTHERN CROSS SPANS OCEAN TO FIJI IN LONGEST SEA FLIGHT EVER MADE; GIRL FLIER REACHES NEWFOUNDLAND" with subheads. (see) Loads of text continues inside with two related photos. Weather would delay her from finishing the journey for about 2 weeks. Always nice to have notable events in history reported in this World famous publication.
