April 30, 1782

THE LONDON CHRONICLE, England, April 30, 1782  Page two has several reports of military events in the South with mention: "...that all apprehension for the loss of Georgia were now entirely unnecessary...the enemy to relinquish all thoughts of attacking it. General Greene had re-crossed the Edisto & taken post at Dorchester...a severe action having taken place near Charlestown between the British...& the army under General Greene...".
Also an interesting item stating: "That Commissioners from Vermont had met...and offered to become subject to the Crown of Great Britain upon the following terms..." with those terms listed. A brief mention from Parliament: "...he hoped that as we had now got rid of the American war, this expense would of course cease as we did not want to raise any more forces to feed the war in America."
Eight pages, 8 1/2 by 11 1/4 inches, very nice condition.
