Inside has: "Pleasing Article" noting: "Captain Mentor...informs that all the officers of the United States frigate Philadelphia...had been liberated through the spirited interference of the French Consul...and that 15 or 20 of the crew had found means to make their escape from servitude...". This was an issue in the Barbary War (see Wikipedia).
Eight pages, 8 3/4 by 11 inches, very nice condition.
