THE LONDON CHRONICLE, England, May 21, 1767

* Pre Revolutionary War tensions

Page 6 has n interesting report datelined from Boston, noting: "In  debate in a very respectable assembly...an extract of an anonymous letter, said to be written in England was read...'So that if your assembly will suffer themselves to be led by that very absurd ignorant firebrand, he may bring them into a worse scrape than they can imagine.' Upon which it was resolved, 'That the words were a high insult, and a breach of privilege; and the person who wrote them was an enemy to this province.' " It would be interesting to know who that "ignorant firebrand" was.
Eight pages, 8 1/4 by 11 inches, very nice condition.
