The Shays' Rebellion, and other news from America...

THE LONDON CHRONICLE, England, Nov. 23, 1786 Inside has some nice content on the Shays' Rebellion (see hyperlink) under the heading of; "American News" including: "...a mob, consisting of near 1500 men, 500 of whom were under arms & headed by a Captain of Militia, assembled there with the treasonable intention of forcibly preventing the sitting of that court..." and another report from Worcester: "...this town was visited by a body of men under arms...who surrounded & took possession of the Court House...were soon joined by a number of others..." with more.
Other American reports include Indian troubles near Nashville, a report on the need of retaining West Point as a military post, and more (see).
Eight pages, 8 1/2 by 11 1/4 inches, minor loss to blank margin on the front leaf, very nice condition.
