Page 29 has a one column heading: "PROF. AULARD DEAD; NOTED HISTORIAN" with subheads. (see) First report coverage on the death of François Victor Alphonse Aulard, first professional French historian of the French Revolution and of Napoleon.
Page 26 also has the first-ever review of the musical, Animal Crackers, which opened on Broadway the day prior. The review includes: "Here come the Marx Brothers again with their uproarious, slapstick comedy in a new fury of puns and gibes by George S. Kaufman and Morrie Ryskind, entitled 'Animal Crackers' and displayed at the Forty-fourth Street Theater last evening." The review takes nearly a full column of text and contains considerable details (see images).
Complete in 60 pages, this is the rare rag edition that was produced on very high quality newsprint, with a high percentage of cotton & linen content, allowing the issues to remain very white & sturdy into the present. Given the subscription cost, libraries & institutions rather than individuals were the primary subscribers of these high-quality editions. Nice condition.
Background (Wikipedia): After The Cocoanuts ran for almost three years at the Lyric Theatre, the "anarchic" Animal Crackers became the third and last Broadway show for the Marx Brothers (I'll Say She Is was the first). It would be their last stage show, after which they focused on film.
