FITCHBURG SENTINEL--WORLD SERIES EXTRA, Oct. 7, 1919

* Chicago White (Black) Sox
* Cincinnati Reds - World Series
* Black Sox Scandal in process (game 6)
* Pat Moran's hometown newspaper (rare)

This issue reports on the sixth game of perhaps the most controversial World Series ever played, called the "Black Sox" series due to the betting scandal involving several of the Chicago White Sox players (see hyperlink for more details).
The banner headlines of the front page boldly announces: "KERR WINS AGAIN" with the box score in large type as well. The text is headed: "Pat Morans Land On Kerr But Chicago Hits Timely" and the text includes an inning-by-inning account of the game.
Special note:  Pat Moran, manager of the Cincinnati team,  was born & raised in Fitchburg, giving a nice local connection to this town & newspaper. Note the ftpg. article: "Big Testimonial To Fitchburg Pat Here Must Be Deferred Three Weeks".
Additional great coverage on page 6 with a banner headline: "Six, Hailed As Hitless Wonders, Earn First Half of Title" plus there are individual photos of players for both teams (see).
Complete in 14 pages, light toning at the margins, minor spine wear, generally very nice.
