All of pages 1, 2 & most of page 3 are taken up with: "The Spanish Manifesto" "Setting forth the Motives which Induced the King of Spain to Commence Hostilities against England", continued in a future issue. Further inside is a report noting: "...learn the military exercise & to consist of tradesmen only. the late appearance of Paul Jones on our coasts has suggested this matter, and I make no doubt but it will be put in execution, as an invasion by the French might easily be effected in the Humber, as the above squadron has plainly proved, though the Ministry never before I believe thought such a thing would have come to pass.." (see).
Another has over half a column headed: "The Rebel Account of the Action at Stono Ferry, in South Carolina, on the 20th of June last..." with a dateline of Charleston, June 24 (see for full report). And another report headed "America" has war reports from the Caribbean as well as a report noting: "...from New York...that General Sir Henry Clinton, with a large body of troops, had proceeded up the North river, taken Fort LaFayette & was on his way to Albany...met in Chesapeak bay & having had unsuccessful cruses, they agreed upon an expedition up Potowmack river..." with more (see).
The back page has a report headed: "America - From the Royal Georgia Gazette" which includes in part: "...number of rebels are in arms on Hilton-head, but as a considerable part of the army is now in the neighbourhood, those deluded people must soon meet with a due reward of rashness and treachery..." (see).
Eight pages, 8 1/4 by 11 inches, very nice, clean condition.
