Inside has a nearly half page article titled: "The Use Of The Gyroscope In The Balancing And Steering Of Aeroplanes" by Robert H. Goddard (see). This was Goddard's first published article, written when he was just 24 years old and a college student. Wikipedia references this very article with:
"While still an undergraduate, Goddard wrote a paper proposing a method for balancing aeroplanes using gyro-stabilization. He submitted the idea to Scientific American, which published the paper in 1907. Goddard later wrote in his diaries that he believed his paper was the first proposal of a way to automatically stabilize aircraft in flight." (see hyperlink).
The article is accompanied by 3 illustrations see. This is very early for this famous rocket pioneer, known as "the father of rockets".
Complete in 16 pages, very nice condition.
