Keeping in mind that Jesse James was killed just 6 days previous, page 9 has a column beginning: "JESSE JAMES" "He Would Not Have Been Welcome at the Penitentiary" "A Reminiscence of the Attempt to Offer Amnesty--Senator Vest's Strange Meeting with the Bandits...He Predicts That Frank James Will Avenge Jesse's Death" Included is: "...that the redoubtable bandit was much better dead outside of the penitentiary than alive within its walls...". The article takes almost an entire column.
Sixteen pages, nice condition.
