THE LONDON CHRONICLE, England, April 14, 1787 

* Massacre of Captain James Moore & his family in Abbs Valley

Page 2 has a report: "The divisions & disaffection of the people of North America...rendered it necessary for Congress to adopt some mode which might tend to unite the several states together; for which purpose they began by the massacre of the Indian Chiefs who had assembled in their usual manner to hold a general council. In consequence of this massacre...." followed by details of the noted massacre of Captain James Moore & his family in Abbs Valley, details of which are found at this hyperlink.
Another page has a letter from New York which notes: "...We carry on a great skin trade with the Iroquois...We have had plentiful crops of corn...We have the last yea made great quantities of oil from whales...We easily send goods to Albany up Hudson's River..." (see).
The back page includes: "...letters...received from the new-erected settlement of the American Loyalists at St. John's, in New Brunswick, that place promises soon to become very flourishing...that New Brunswick may already be considered as an asylum waiting with open arms to receive the industrious adventurers of  all nations who may emigrate  thither."
Eight pages, never bound nor trimmed, 9 by 12 inches, very nice condition.
