ST. LOUIS GLOBE-DEMOCRAT, Dec. 15, 1883
* Outlaw bandit Frank Rande
* Tombstone, Arizona report
Likely due to its location on the edge of the Western frontier, this newspaper typically contained a wealth sensational crime reports and events from the West, much more than any found in eastern newspapers. Page 6 has: "Double Murder and Robbery in Arizona" with a dateline from the Tombstone Epitaph, with details of the crime at nearby Bisbee, Arizona (see).
The back page has a very lengthy & detailed report headed: "Frank Rande Is Nowhere" "His Criminal Record Completely Eclipsed by To Rowland" "A Robber who was Shot 29 Times, and Danced a Jog with a Broken Ankle--Identified as Dead and Reported Alive". A fascinating article taking over 2 columns, with considerable detail.
Sixteen pages, very nice condition.
