HARPER'S NEW MONTHLY MAGAZINE, New York, October, 1882  The issue leads off with a lengthy article on Surrey, in England, with many prints. Also a lengthy article titled "Southern California" which has many prints, some captioned "A Bit of Old Monterey" "Palo Alto" "A Bandy Cellar" "From the Old Fort, Monterey" "The Hotel Del Monte" and several more from Monterey.
The article: "'The Railway Invasion of Mexico" has a very lengthy footnote which chronicles the career of Jesse James, noting near the beginning: "...we can not do better than recall some details of the familiar and recently terminated career of Jesse James..." with much more. Also in this issue: "In the Wahlamet Valley of Oregon"
This has 160 pages, 6 1/2 by 9 3/4 inches, disbound without the outer wrappers, and is nice condition.
