NATIONAL INTELLIGENCER, Washington, D.C., Oct. 23, 1807 

* President Thomas Jefferson pardon
* United States Army deserters


Page 3 has: "A Proclamation" by the President concerning those: "...who have deserted from the army of the United States...has become sensible of their offense & are desirous of returning to their duty, a full pardon is hereby proclaimed...as shall, within four months...surrender themselves to the commanding officer..." signed in type: Th. Jefferson. Page 3 also has some news concerning the frigate Chesapeake (see). Page 2 has a report beginning: "Fellow citizens of the southern states...be upon your guard! Thirty Convict Negroes from Jamaica have been brought into this port..." with further details.
Several reward ads for runaway slaves. Four pages, nice condition.
