December 11, 1773

THE LONDON CHRONICLE, England, Dec. 11, 1773  A report headed "America" is datelined from Philadelphia and includes a report from Honduras concerning the slave rebellion there, including: "...have left that place & are settled in Georgia on account of the late rebellion of the negroes up the rivers, which make it very dangerous as they cannot, with safety, attempt to cut any more mahogany, there being above 20 of the negroes yet out who give no quarter to any white man but murder all the come across..." and more (see).
Another report from New York includes: "...a meeting of most of the merchants & many of the inhabitants...to consult & agree upon signifying their thanks to the captains of the London ships...for their patriotic conduct in refusing to take from the East India Company on fright a quantity of tea on which a duty...was made payable in American on importation..." which further on includes: "...The insidious purpose of levying the duty in American & taking off a much greater in England is equally manifest & detestable; being nothing less than to establish the odious precedent of raising a revenue in America..." with more (see).
Eight pages, 8 1/2 by 11 inches, nice condition.
