NILES' WEEKLY REGISTER, Baltimore, March 18, 1837 Inside has an article "Texas" which notes: "...that a tremendous rush is already making from the south and south-west into Texas. Vast numbers are gone, going, or preparing to go, with their money and their domestic slaves, into the new El Dorado...will be a vast emigration to the more fertile & pleasant fields of Texas--where lands can be had for little or nothing..." with much more on the booming rush to Texas & its many virtues.
Sixteen pages, 8 1/4 by 11 1/2 inches, very nice condition.
As noted in Wikipedia, this title: "...(was) one of the most widely-circulated magazines in the United States...Devoted primarily to politics...considered an important source for the history of the period."
