The back page has an item: "A New Prophet" noting: "It is rumored that the Mormons are soon to have another prophet. Brigham Young says that he has lately had an interview with Joe, who declared his determination to appoint Orson Hyde his successor, according to the provision in the Book of Covenants...". Another small item notes: "...Little general Tom Thumb is a fair specimen of our miniature Yankee productions. His mother in Connecticut is said to have become reconciled to his 'being out' for a spell. Mr. Barnum, of the New York museum, who went with hi in charge to Europe, has sent home $14,000 as the proceeds of but six weeks exhibition of Tom Thumb..." and a bit more (see).
Sixteen pages, 8 1/2 by 12 inches, very nice condition.
