Page 3 has an article with a small head: "Departure of the Mormons" which includes: "...had an interview with Brigham Young; how waggons were loaded & on the eve of departure for the far West. The twelve, and they say 4000 will leave immediately...The temple took fire while I was over the river..." with more (see).
Pg. 3 also has: "The Republic of Texas--Annexation Formally Ratified" which includes: "...contains the valedictory of Mr. Jones, President of the Republic of Teas, an independent nation, and the inaugural speech of Governor Henderson, governor of the...one of the States of the American Union..." which includes a great speech (see), ending with: "The final act in this great drama is now performed. The Republic of Texas is no more!"
Four pages, bit of fold foxing, rejoined at the spine, nice condition.
