The centerfold of this newspaper has what is arguably one of the very finest 19th century baseball prints to appear in a newspaper. Perfect for display.
There are multiple prints with a central image with a panoramic view of a baseball game with a huge crowd. Surrounding this print are full-figures portraits of 20 notables in the baseball world at that time. The centerfold is captioned: "Great Base Ball Match Between the Atlantic and Eckford Clubs of Brooklyn, at the Union Base Ball Grounds, Brooklyn, Oct. 13, With Portraits of The Leading Players of the Principal Clubs of New York, Brooklyn and Newark."
Fortunately this print was bound into the issue at the wide left margin so there is no centerfold attachment to the issue, and certainly no centerfold binding holes. The print folds out to measure 22 by 16 inches and is in very nice condition. Just a bit of very light toning to the lower right corner with a few small tears, neither remotely close to the print.

It has been many years since we have had the opportunity to offer this very desirable print. Actually you get the complete 16 page issue which includes on the front page a print: "Voodooism At Mobile--Strange Superstition of the Negro." Another page has a related article: "Vondooism In Mobile".
