* Report on the great plague (rare)
The ftpg. has a report from Dublin which includes: "The Totall of the Burialls in this City for this last year, from the 11 of August 1665 to the 11 of August 1666 amounts to 1400. Of the Plague none." A but further down the first column is a report datelined "Norwich, Aug. 15" concerning deaths from the Plague, reading, in full: "The Account of our Bill of Mortality for this last week runs thus, Buried of all Diseases 196, where of the Plague 177. and at the Pesthouse 4." (see photos)
Also on the front page is a rare news report which mentions the Plague, datelined from Ulushing & reading: "...The Plague is grown very hot in this Town, insomuch as we are forc'd to draw all our forces out of it, obliging them to quarter in the neighboring villages, save only such as are necessarily to be continued for the security of the place..." (see).
The back page has an item from Mayence (Germany) which reads: "The Contagion continues still very hot in these parts, especially in this City, but rages not with that violence as formerly." (see).
An 10 3/4 by 6 3/4 inch single sheet, light browning near the margins, otherwise in great condition.
