The first two columns of the front page are taken up with: "An ACT relative to the Election of a President and Vice-President of the United States, and Declaring the Officer who shall act as President in case of Vacancies in the Offices both of President and Vice-President." This is called the "Presidential Succession Act" as it established the line of succession to the powers and duties of the President of the United States in the event that neither a President nor Vice President was able to "discharge the powers and duties of the office". Signed in script type: Go. Washington.
The ftpg. also has an: "...Account of the Loss of the Ship Columbia, of Exeter, late commanded by Captain Isaac Chauncey". Page 2 has a letter signed by H. Knox, plus several letters concerning the charge of mutiny against John Morgan (see). Pages 3 7 4 contain lengthy accounts headed: "Grand Lodge of Massachusetts" for the Society of Free & Accepted Masons.
Four pages, untrimmed margins,  where paper was once stuck there are 3 small places to the ftpg. where some tape is lost, one affecting 7 words in the Act (see). Otherwise in great condition.
