Item # 636622
November 14, 1872
BOSTON WEEKLY JOURNAL, Nov. 14, 1872
* Great Boston fire of 1872
* It is BEST to have reports from the city where an event occurred
The front page features a nice map headed: "Diagram Of The Burnt District" in Boston, which had just suffered a horrible fire. The top of one of the columns has: "A TERRIBLE CALAMITY" "One Eighth of the Property of Boston Destroyed: "Eighty Acres of Territory Burned Over" "The Richest Portion of the City in Ruins". Considerable reporting on the inside pages as well.
Four pages, never bound nor trimmed, a huge paper measuring 23 1/2 by 29 1/2 inches, some browning at folds and a few small archival mends. Folder size noted is for the issue folded in half.
