THE UNITED STATES' GAZETTE, Philadelphia, April 12, 1812  This is from shortly before war would be declared against England in the War of 1812. Content includes: "More Like War" "Commotion In Florida" "Presidential Election" "Reason for Embargo" and a report from Washington noting: "We understand Gen. Dearborn has accepted the command of the army destined for the north & is making arrangements for...organizing the troops...William Hull, Esq. now Governour of the territory of Michigan, is appointed a Brigadier General in the army of the United States."
Eight pages, 11 by 14 inches, never bound nor trimmed, minor archival mend at the spine, good condition.
